Salvatore Tobias  Benigno
Salvatore Tobias Benigno, 91 of Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 20, 1926, where he grew he grew up, was married to his beloved wife, Anna, and remained to raise their family.  Sal was a proud United States Army Veteran, where he served our country during World War II. He was a devout Catholic and an active communicant of Saint Jude Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn, New York , where he volunteered  as an usher, was a member of the Holy Name Society, an also actively volunteered delivering Easter and Thanksgiving baskets around the community,  as well as participating and volunteering in the Bird Show.  He also volunteered for Our Lady of Miracles Parish where he delivered food to the elderly and home bound. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and following all sporting events and his favorite sports teams. Sal was a generous, kind, and giving man who always had a kind word for everyone met. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to everyone who knew him. Sal always had a smile on his face, and was constantly happy and upbeat, even throughout his illness.
Sal was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Mary (Ingrassia) Benigno, his beloved son, Frank Benigno, his dear son-in-law, Joseph Rossetti, and his sister-in-law, Carmella (Pasquariello) Benigno.  Sal is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 67 years, Anna (Mignano) Benigno, his loving children, Maria Rossetti of West Babylon, New York, Rosanne Mannina and her husband, Gary, of Levittown, New York, his cherished grandchildren, Joseph Rossetti, Salvatore Rossetti, Annmarie Hernandez, Gary Mannina, Daniel Mannina and Brittney Mannina, his dear and devoted brother, Rosolino "Russ" Benigno, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. Sal will be deeply and sadly missed, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!
Family and friend are invited to attend a memorial visitation at the McManus Funeral Home, 4601 Avenue N, Brooklyn, New York 11234 on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:30 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Military Honors will be presented at 3:00 PM on Wednesday during the visitation hours.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, November 9, at 9:45 AM at Saint Jude Roman Catholic Church, 1677 Canarsie Road, Brooklyn, New York 11236.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
