Obituary for Patrick L . Fratello

Patrick L . Fratello
Patrick J. Fratello passed away on November 13, 2017 at age 49.  He was a retired mail carrier for the United States Post Office.  He is the beloved husband of Kathleen Fratello and the devoted father of Ryan and Daniel Fratello.   He is the loving brother of Donna Hirsch, Anthony and Dominick Fratello and he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Patrick was a man who not only loved life he was a man who also willed life.  Pat saw both his sons to young adulthood by pure desire and will to live.  As many times as he went in for surgery, he always came out the incredible optimist.  He was always full of hope that there will be another day and that day will be a better day.   No one has ever met a man with a stronger zest for life than Patrick L. Fratello.

In spite of so many  hardships, Patrick had a wonderful sense of humor.  He always had something funny to say no matter how dire the circumstances he found himself in.  He always gave hope to his entire family that whatever difficult period was going on will soon pass and lead to an even greater day.

Patrick will be greatly missed by everyone who got a chance to know him and had the privilege to call him husband, dad, cousin, sibling, son, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, patient, parishioner, neighbor, friend and, most of all, a child of God.  Everyone who was ever touched by Patrick's wonderful spirit will tremendously miss his presence in their life.  He was that type of a wonderful soul.

Patrick was the center of his family.  He was an amazing cook who not only enjoyed preparing all the holiday meals, but he also did so joyfully.  No matter how much pain and discomfort Pat was in, he always made time for his wife and sons, taking many trips in the car to amusement parks all over the east coast and traveling to see his extended family members in Florida.   He never stopped caring for his immediate family, and all their needs, up until his very last day of life and up until his very last breath on this earth.

Many of us do believe that Patrick is in a better place living both peacefully and pain free.   But that does not mean that everyone who was touched by Patrick's life is not deeply sadden that he has left this earth.   But always know that he had left this earth a much better place than when he arrived here nearly 50 years ago.  We will all miss him so much.

In lieu of flowers, Patrick's family request that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation - https://www.kidney.org/donation?promo=MTL000127
