Obituary for Helen Somerman
With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our loving and devoted wife, mother and friend, Helen Somerman on December 6, 2019.
She left us too soon after a year-long battle with cancer.
Helen Diane Basile was born January 22, 1950 to Dolores and Vincent Basile in the Marine Park Neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, where she lived her entire life.
She is survived by her devoted husband Eugene, son Vincent (wife Karen) and daughter Kathleen. She was blessed with grandchildren Jude and Paige. Helen’s siblings… Karen Ann Okola, Dolores Margaret Slier, Thomas Vincent Basile, their families, extended families, cousins and friends, all mourn her passing and will miss her disarmingly charming, child-like laughter and the beautifully honest smile that always came along with it.
A remembrance service of Helen’s life is being held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at McManus Funeral Home 4601 Avenue N, Brooklyn NY, 11234.
