I knew Doug from our days at college and I will always remember him as a caring and gentle person. It's always sad to see someone so good pass away so young, but I am glad Doug had a chance to do what he loved as a motorman for the New York City subway system, and that he touched so many people over the years. RIP my friend, and be free of pain.

He was always pleasant when visiting The Bay Ridge Model Railroad Club. He loved to see the trolley's run. I am sure that he is in heaven looking down to make sure the club will survive at its new home in Kingston, NY.
On behalf of the BRMRRC, our condolences to the family.
Sincerely Adam, Arthur, & Hank

To the family of our dear friend Douglas. I knew Doug as a co-member of the Shoreline Trolley Museum. He was always at the major events. Doug was one of those great people that you felt you had always known. That's why I can't remember our introduction. Anyway, I started going to BERA in 1997. We had a common thread to talk about, railroading! It was always great to have Doug around. I found him very unassuming, and to have a great sense of humor. My wife Vicky met him along with me several times at the trolley museum. We were both devastated by the news. Doug is now firmly and forever in God's care, this we know. Doug will always have a special place in our hearts until we meet again. John DiSarro III & Victoria Kirby
