Obituary for Joseph B. Shores Jr.
Joseph Boyd Shores, Jr, age 46, a treasured brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 9, 2020. Joseph Jr was predeceased by and is now reunited with his cherished parents Maureen and Joseph Sr. and his niece Katherine Mary Cullen and his nephew Kevin Shawn Cullen. He is survived by his beloved sisters Kathleen Cullen (Richard), Joan Ballard (George), and Patricia Shores-Mazza (John), and his nieces Margaret and Kathryn Corr and Maureen Mazza, and his great nephew Daniel Rogers.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Joseph Jr. graduated from Xaverian High School. Thoughout High School, Joseph Sr. taught his son his own trade of being a Steamfitter, to which Joseph Jr. loved from the very start. He joined the Local 638 Steamfitters Union shortly after graduation, and not only loved to learn but had a profound affinity to teaching the trade as well. He then brought home his dedication to teaching to his nieces and great nephew. From teaching the girls how to change their own oil to how to service the boiler at the family home and everything in between. He also loved teaching his great nephew how cars work.
Joseph Jr. was an amazing person, always giving his time and his knowledge to those around him. He was quick to drop anything he was doing to lend a helping hand. His unconditional kindness and his willingness to make everyone smile will be missed by us all.
